It would be really hard not to notice one of the major print trends on the runway is the perfect paisley.
Emilio Pucci, Jill Sander and Etro have given the paisley print its perfect presentation. Lifting it from the humble granny print found on imported rugs to haute couture.
There are so many fantastic finds that embrace the paisley trend I had problems narrowing it down. Hopefully, I have found a few ways work this print into your wardrobe.
Miu Miu has shown these cute little canvas bags with a paisley print and you can have one from Net-a-Porter for about 500 pounds ($1000). Yep, for a canvas bag. But hey, they are cute!
If you have your heart set on a paisley bag but can’t stand the thought of parting with $1000, have a look at this bag found via Kaboodle. I really like this blue, brown and green satchel. Not only are the colours great but it’s plenty big enough to be a great weekend getaway bag. A couple more cool things to like about this handbag, it’s handmade and it’s only $39.99!! How fantastic is that? It ain’t your nana’s handbag, it’s better!
I found this dress, yes, I said dress at Dots.com. I love the colour and the one sleeve. All very cool in my book. But there is no way NO WAY I’m wearing this as a dress unless it has tights underneath! I think I would be more likely to wear it as a shirt with jeans or black pants but if I had a pair of pale blue skinny jeans I think that could be a fun combo for Spring/Summer. With a price under $20, I find it very tempting.
My favourite item as I looked at all the paisley printed options (that didn’t cost a fortune) were these adorable paisley shorts from ASOS. They are under $50 and I think they would look so cute with my mustard colored tights, some ankle boots and my turquoise colored jumper/sweater. However, I could also wear one of my cashmere jumpers or a cardigan if the weather was a little warmer. Then in the summer they would be cute with a t-shirt and sandals, plus a massive stack of bracelets and bangles.
Because you know I can’t resist having a look at what is available on Etsy.com that works with our trends, I had to add these wide-leg perfect paisley print pants (say that three times fast)! I honestly can’t picture myself wearing them. But that is mostly because I am just not brave enough to go for such a big statement. I can image one of you who has the guts to wear all the funky street wear looks putting together some amazing outfit. About all I could imagine myself doing with them is a t-shirt and denim jacket with a pair of beaded sandals. Although, if the t-shirt was a sequined one and beaded sandals were on a wedge it could be a fun evening look. With a price of $38 they are practically a bargain!
As much as I love the high-end versions of the perfect paisley print, I’m far more likely to end up owning one of the less expensive items in this pretty print
Tomorrow I’ll share with you how I have worked the perfect paisley into my wardrobe.
How do you wear paisley? Or is it one print trend that you are planning to avoid?

I absolutely love paisley! I’m keeping my eye open for a blue/navy and cream paisley blouse… I think it might even work in pattern mixing. Maybe.

Be brave!
Be Bold!
Mix your pattern!
I had a bit more paisley in my wardrobe than I thought and I would add more if I could find the right stuff.

My pleasure Paula!
Better a trip down memory lane than a trip down the stairs. 🙂
I’m finding that I like paisley a lot more than I thought I did.
Would gladly add any number of paisley items to my wardrobe.
Maybe it’s all the colour choices and options to wear it so many ways?
Cheers,

The shorts are fabulous… can’t beat Asos!
June 12th, 2012 at 08:10
Agree Kat!
I’m really finding so many great things on ASOS if I weren’t restricting my spending I think I would have a package delivered at least once a week if not more!

That Miu Miu bag is adorable! I love paisley. Kate Spade (see, I’m back on THAT again) has paisley as their pattern of the month. They have such cute things available! I’d love a paisley bag to keep things interesting.

Janice,
A paisley bag would be great because it would go with so many different things.
It’s just the Miu Miu price that doesn’t agree with my wallet!

Ooer, I’m kind of digging that super low-cut dress! As a barely breasted women I wouldn’t mind exercising some vampiness with an outfit like that! I also love that purple dress to the right.

That dress would be made for you!
Not a chance I could get away with wearing it. 🙂
It just wouldn’t be safe!
Cheers,
Laura
