Red, White and “Blue”berry – July 4th Inspiration

It’s just about the 4th of July for our friends in the USA. Picnics, BBQ and fireworks! So thought I would take a little red, white and “blueberry” (it is “blue”berry month) inspiration from their celebration!

As yummy as this looks, it’s not exactly the red, white and “blue”berry I had in mind. I’m thinking more of clothes. So I thought I would share a few of my favourite looks that I have pinned at Pinterest.

Classic – I get that it may be a little too warm in the northern hemisphere to be wearing all these layers…BUT…it is a fantastic classic look. If it’s too hot now you can always consider it on Memorial Day, or Veteran’s Day. It’s such a great look, you need to consider it! I love this look and trying to figure out how I can pull it together for myself. I’ve got the red jeans, the denim shirt, pretty sure I have a blue striped t-shirt…just don’t have the right white blazer. Might be able to get away with a white cardigan? I simply must have this look! Or something very similar.

Here’s another play on the same theme. The white denim is so clean, crisp and fresh. Maybe not appropriate for a picnic or bbq as stains would not be a good look. Unfortunately, I don’t own a red blazer either…but, as I am the cardigan queen, I do have a red cardi!

Another slight variance on the same theme. This time the jacket has the stripe. And I like it. A lot!

Most of what I like about these looks is that they are classic. Classic style and colours. They look chic but relaxed and could be worn anywhere, anytime. If you want to play up the patriotic thing then you just mix in stars or stripes. And really they work whether you are in the US, England, Australia or France (Bastille Day is coming).

So this red, white and “blue”berry theme may be inspired by the 4th of July but it’s perfect in so many other times and places.

How do you feel about the Red, White and “Blue”berry? What do you own that could help you pull this classic look together?

BTW: this is the kind of Red, White and “Blue”berry that it feels like right now here in the southern hemisphere! Hope you up North are loving the heat!

I love mixing red, white and blue any time of the year. It’s such a fun, crisp combination. Other people tease me and call me things like “American Woman” and “Miss 4th of July”, but I don’t care. They’re just silly. Nice post!

      Thanks Britts!
You could be called worse. 🙂
When you have a look at most of the Street Looks that I like they are a mix of red, white and blue. Nice and crisp and fresh. My white jeans and red skinnies are probably two of my favourites to mix and match.
