4th of July Inspiration – Red, White and “Blue”berry

Yep! This time I really do mean to get my 4th of July Inspiration from the old red, white and “blue”berry!

Today we are looking at the “stars” of the 4th of July celebrations. The little things that make you and your party for independence shine bright.

As this month is “blue”berry month it seems only natural to start with a lovely little blueberry inspired desert. It’s easy, you need blueberries, a watermelon, a couple different sized star-shaped cookie cutters and a bowl. If you add a dollop of whipped cream before serving you truly have the red, white and blue thing covered!

July 4th BBQ Attire – If you really want to get into the spirit of the day you need a pair of red denim cut-offs and this great stars and stripes button-down shirt. Very patriotic and great for sitting around the bbq. I’m thinking when my red skinny jeans start getting old they are going to become a cool pair of red cut-offs. I think this look would be perfect with a pair of red Converse high-tops by day if you are the active type or a little pair of red sandals if you are more the hang around and look fabulous type.

Red, White and Blue Picnic – Isn’t this the most adorable sweets table setting for a patriotic 4th? I like that although it is all done in red, white and blue, it isn’t full on 4th of July. This will be just as good for Bastille Day (France, 14 July) or for Australia Day (26 January). In fact I’m thinking of starting to gather a few things together so I’ll be ready by Australia Day!

This is the perfect picnic look. Classic white t-shirt with red skinny jeans and a blue and white striped cardigan just in case it cools off for the fireworks.

Speaking of cooling off…how cute is this red, white and blue drinks trolley?! We have an antique trolley that we use in the house for cocktails but I am tempted to purchase this stainless steel trolley to use out on the patio. It would certainly make entertaining a little easier. Love the red, white and blue dispensers on top. At our house, at least one would include something grown-up strength!

If you are going for a more grown-up look on the 4th of July this outfit is too cute. Navy skirt, navy and white striped top and accessorize with a red bag. Doesn’t matter which of the three colours your shoes are but I think they have to be wedges! I’d probably go with navy just to keep the bag as the main red focus.

And if by chance you are attending a gathering where you have been asked to bring something. Get into the red, white and blue spirit with this cheese/fruit plate. A good strong blue cheese, a lovely soft brie and some chilled red grapes.

What do you think of this 4th of July inspired – red, white and blue mix of clothing, food and drink?

Anything here inspire your inner patriot?
