Wiggle Your Toes – Summer Sandals

As we finish up this series, I would like to bring back together our look at Wiggle Your Toes Day and Open Toe Shoes by exploring the summer sandal. After all, what better way to bring soul to your sole than a fantastic pair sandals?

And I have to admit, part of the reason I am doing this if for selfish reasons. If you remember my post on my open toe shoes, you will recall three of the 16 pair were good old summer sandals. However, my favourite pair, the basic and simple silver pair, are nearly on their last legs…even at the end of their last legs! (pun so intended!) So I need to start thinking about a replacement pair. Ones that could make the grade and my suitcase for the trip to Spain.

Here are 5 pair I found that I like, would wear and are all available online. Can’t wait to hear your feedback on which pair you like best…especially as it will influence me purchase!

Well, what better place to start than Jimmy Choo. I found this pair at Net-a-Porter.

They are metallic, which continues to be a hot trend this coming season. They have a little bit of the gladiator/tribal look about them. They are Jimmy Choo’s. Price is about $250 AUD! Did I mention they are Jimmy Choo? At this price they would probably be the only pair of sandals in the bag for the month but hey, if I had these they would be the only sandals I need! They can dress up or down and will always look fantastic. Oh yea, and they are Jimmy Choo!

Here we have a pair by Sam Edelman, the Gable Half Calf, that I found at ShopBop.com.

This pair also plays a little off the tribal trend. Especially with the three ankle straps having the leopard print. Of course I like the fact that they are orange (which is a colour I love). But that also makes them a little less versatile so I would probably want to pack another pair of sandals for the trip. This pair is currently 30% off which makes them $70 AUD.

This colour blocked pair are called Stevie and can be found for $50 AUD at Novo.

I have a lot of luck with Novo shoes in that they always fit well and last well. Plus the price is always very reasonable. I chose this pair because they are working the colour block trend, the brights trend and because the style is a toned down gladiator/tribal. They could be pretty versatile but aren’t likely to work with everything while we are spending our month shopping our way touring out way around Spain.

At just under $100 AUD, this pair of Sabina Studs from Wittner certainly ticks a lot of boxes!

Let’s see how many trends they cover…pastel colours – yeap, peachy pink – tick…studs – yeap – double tick…rose gold metallic – yeap – triple tick…over and out! They would be very versatile, going with everything that I am likely to pack. Can dress up with a summer dress or down with shorts or Capri pants. Have just enough wow factor to not be boring but understated enough to not steal the shoe show.

This pair is also from ShopBop , are 30% off (%55 AUD) and cover both the metallic and pastel trends.

These are very pretty and the least expensive of the lot. However, I am afraid they may be too dressy for the everyday needs of spending a month abroad. Would they have the flexibility of being casual or dressed down. Or will I need to pack another pair of shoes which will mean less space to fill with new things from the trip?

Honest answers please. Do you think any of these options should 1) make it into my wardrobe, 2) are right to be the only pair of sandals taken on a one month holiday, 3) if not okay to be the only pair, are they worth the price of lost space in the luggage?

I need your opinions soon so I can order them while supplies (my size) still lasts! And so I get some wear out of them before the trip. I don’t want to spend my summer with blisters on my toes because they haven’t been broken in properly!

That would be a very bad look and not at all for wiggling you toes!

Please help me find a new pair of summer sandals.

Cheers,

Laura
