As I spent yesterday thinking about stylish ways to wear the white t-shirt on holiday, it seemed only appropriate that I pull together a few looks and do it my way today.
Besides building each of these looks from the humble white t-shirt I made sure that the individual pieces could be mixed and matched. That way I can get away with packing fewer items but still have enough options to look stylish whatever and wherever we go.
The White T-shirt – Just a Little Dressy:This is a simple chic look based on the white t-shirt and white denim. Next I added black wedges, belt and the black leather jacket. The addition of the black handbag was risking making this too much a bland black and white look so I wrapped a lovely vintage silk scarf around my neck instead of jewelry. The scarf gives the look a lovely chic feel and a nice pop of colour. I think this will be a nice look to wear out in the evening when dining or sitting in a cafe having tapas and wine.
Casual and Relaxed: This second look is very casual and relaxed. With flat sandals it will be perfect for just wandering around and sight-seeing. The addition of the heels, dress it up just enough to make it more interesting for going out at night. The tie-dye jeans are from my DIY series and perhaps one of my all time favourite pairs of pants. They are very on-trend even though I made them about 4 months ago I still love the way they turned out! Besides the t-shirt I have used a military style jacket that I got during the clothing swap some friends and I did at my home, there are my snake-skin Jessica Simpson shoes from TJ Maxx, a silver bracelet, necklace and the DIY oversized metallic clutch that I recently made.
Casual and Chic White T-shirt: I have matched a Target t-shirt material skirt with the white t-shirt to come up with a casual, comfortable and chic holiday look. It has been accessorized with my black Lisa Ho thrifted cardigan, a stack of black, silver and copper bracelets, my onyx necklace from Egypt, a little pair of quilted ballet flats and a big red guess bag. The bag is perfect to carry my camera and the other necessities of travel in while wandering the streets of San Sebastian or Madrid. If the weather is warm, the cardigan can stay in the bag until the evening cools. One bonus about these fabrics is that they are all light-weight and would dry really fast so they can be worn multiple times mixed with other pieces.
So there are a few ways I intend to wear my humble white t-shirt while on holiday in Spain. The flexibility and versatility of the pieces will mean I can pack light and not worry about having space to bring back new things! I’ll really need to think about layers as we will be in the north of Spain and south of France for the start of the holiday and then down in the warmer south of Spain for the second half. And as we will spend a fair bit of time near the ocean or in the mountains, layers are smart for changing weather.
