Pink is such a hot colour that it even has its own month…here is my homage to Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Think Pink!
Considering I have been having a major girlie moment…well…three months worth of moments…and have fallen in love with pink, it seemed the perfect opportunity to share it with you. As I’m not really a girlie-girl, this crush on pink is a complete surprise to me! I didn’t even like pink when I was a young girl so not sure why now. But hey, I’m going with and embracing girliness.
How much would I love to have any of these suits to wear to work?! The colour of the middle one is fantastic. Don’t think I could wear the matching hat. However if I had my pick I would likely go with the third one as the colour would be good on my complexion (as good as a pastel can be on someone with autumnal colouring), and it is very chic. Short suits are such a great way to stay professional and yet enjoy the season as it warms.
This Dolce & Gabbana, Miss Sicily bag is responsible for my current uncharacteristic girlie crush. I love it! Really! I LOVE IT!!
Currently you can get the lighter pink version at Neiman Marcus for about $1500 USD but I have been unable to find the “Rose” coloured one for sale anywhere. *Insert huge sad face here* You will have noticed a bit of pink showing up in my recent vintage posts.
Other pink things creeping into my wardrobe are these fuchsia coloured Novo wedges, a vintage pink handbag and a couple of vintage scarves with pink. You may also remember the grey and pink vintage peplum dress. I love wearing all of these items. No matter how girlie they look!
The handbag is actually a little bit smaller than I had been expecting but it is so lovely that I had to have it and at $40 shipped from Etsy.com it was a bargain I just couldn’t resist. I didn’t set out to get a scarf that was pink, it just came as part of the lot of them that I purchased so was a little bit of a ladylike bonus.
Using my new pink accessories I was able to put together this look as a tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I purchased the skater dress from River Island back in February. It was on sale for some ridiculous price of about 12 pounds (under $20)! As you can see I have kept the look from going too sickly sweet by using a pair of black leggings. Plus the black gives the pink something to “pop” next to. The wedges, handbag, scarf are all used with some silver and purple bracelets and a vintage necklace to complete the Think Pink look for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Just in case head to toe pink is too much for you, I put together this look using my crazy paisley pink and green leggings (you may remember them from my LBD 7 Looks x 7 Days challenge) and a really cute little white dress purchased from Glassons last October. The new pink handbag and wedges stand out nicely with this look. I’m actually really looking forward to spring so I can wear this look. Thinking seriously about taking it with us to Spain. Maybe with a pink or green cardigan?
So there you have it, my way to think pink and honour Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
