Yesterday I mentioned that Barcelona Spain, was our first stop on this trip. That the ladies there were very fashionable and always wearing a scarf set the bar high for my holiday packing…BUT…I gave it a good try, and will share with you my Spanish style while in Barcelona.
You may recall from my post about holiday packing that I really hadn’t packed that much but most of it was mix and match to provide more options. Luckily Barcelona was warm enough that what I had packed was appropriate, even if the locals thought it was cold and winter weather it was twice as warm as the temperatures I had left in Australia.
Barcelona Style: We had a lovely room at the Mur Muri Hotel in Barcelona which had a balcony that overlooked a lovely wide street that had little outside restaurant setting up the middle of the tree-lined avenue. The Fashion Mister is not fond of heights but was good enough to take a couple of happy snaps of me standing on the balcony. He even tried to be clever and get a double me using the reflection in the door.
The Look: This look was so comfortable – which is part of the reason each of these pieces made it into the holiday wardrobe. Simple cropped red cotton pants from Target that I had given a double cuff to make them even shorter. You may remember the red graphic print tank top, I picked up on one of my op-shop/thrift store hauls, and of course the white blazer/jacket from my Me and the Band post. The big red Guess bag was a must as was a scarf! I opted to wear this black and white bandana scarf tied so that the fringe hung down the front just to give it a little personality. The look was finished off with my chunky white watch and a silver bangle I got in Mexico when I was 19 (yes, a very long time ago!).
Barcelona 2012: Over all I think I pulled together a good look. It was comfortable and stylish. Even though it may have been a bit too summery for the locals the scarf kept it appropriate to everyone else’s style and it really was a warm day! I’m thinking by the huge smile on my face you probably could tell we were happy to be on holiday in Spain! And I don’t even think I had started shopping yet!!
Tomorrow I’ll share a few of my favourite pictures from around Barcelona, which will mostly be Gaudi related architecture. For now, that’s it on my Spanish style from Barcelona. Until I show you the amazing shoes I did eventually buy!
