Nothing dark or scary here like in the “Christmas Carol“.
For the Fashion Mister and I, Christmas Future hopefully holds a trip to Prague. It’s one of those places that I have always wanted to visit and I think going at Christmas time would be amazing.
Can you imagine anything more fantastic than being in Wenceslas Square around Christmas? And attending the Christmas markets with all the hand-crafted items from a country with such a rich history.
“Good King Wenceslas” is a popular Christmas carol that tells a story of Good King Wenceslas braving harsh winter weather to give alms to a poor peasant on the Feast of Stephen (the second day of Christmas, December 26). During the journey, his page is about to give up the struggle against the cold weather, but is enabled to continue by following the king’s footprints, step for step, through the deep snow.
Perhaps there is still a remnant of a young girl inside me as I imagine Prague, especially at Christmas, to be one of the most magical , nearly fairy-tale like, places. I’m quite certain when we finally get there, I will walk around in wonderment, maybe even enchanted.
And if being part of fairy-tale Christmas celebration isn’t enough? I can always eat gingerbread until I explode! Gingerbread is one of my FAVOURITE Christmas treats…followed very closely by shortbread…oh I have a feeling I am going to need to buy bigger clothes when we finally make this trip!
So this is a dream or a visit from the ghost of Christmas Future and how I would like to spending my Christmas sometime in the not too distant future. For now, I am working and then joining my family for nice Australian (not Austrian) Christmas.
Hope you all are enjoying your holiday!
