Celebrate Transitions Month

Okay, it’s not official, other than here at As Time Goes…Buy, but I have decided to declare March, “Celebrate Transitions Month”! It’s the perfect time to do just that. It doesn’t matter if you are in the Northern Hemisphere or the Southern, March is a month of transitioning. Typically from one season to the next.

After a really warm and dry Summer here in the Southern Hemisphere, we have just had three days of pouring rain, which is a clear sign that Autumn is working its way here. At the same time, I have been reading the blogs of my Northern Hemisphere friends and have noticed snow melting in the background of their fashion shoots…not quite gone, but going.

Aspens in Transition

Aspens in Transition

The Past: In some way for me Aspens are a good representation of the past, and transitions. In the past, before moving to Australia, I spent 18 years living in Denver Colorado where watching the Aspens transitioning colour each Autumn was a glorious thing. If there was a slight breeze the leaves rustling together reminded me of the sea. I had moved from California to Colorado, so more past. I do miss the amazing show Mother Nature put on each autumn in Colorado. For some reason we don’t get quite the dramatic showing here.

I’m thinking if the Aspens can make such a beautiful and glorious transition between seasons, why can’t I? Which is exactly what I plan to do and why I have decided March should be Celebrate Transitions Month!

Blooming Tulips

Blooming Tulips

The Future: Tulips are another sign of transition for me because they are some of the first flowers to come peeking out of the dormant ground in early spring. Even though March is early autumn here in Australia, I started As Time Goes…Buy on March 8, 2012. Much like the tulips gently breaking ground and poking my head up to see if it was safe to come out! So as this is the month of birth for As Time Goes…Buy, it is another reason to celebrate!

Celebrate the connections with fun and interesting people all around the world. Celebrate that I have posted every day, a goal I set for myself. Celebrate that I have refined my style and found my voice over this past 365 days.

So this month, whether we are talking about our new transitional series, “Now & Later”, or how to embrace change our loose theme will be Celebrate Transitions!

Hope you enjoy the coming month.
