Transitioning to Emerald-Green

You may recall back in December I shared how I wasn’t looking forward to Emerald-Green being Pantone’s colour of 2013. Well my favourite cousin read that post and decided to see if she could help gently do some transitioning to emerald-green.

A few weeks ago a small package arrived from Marlene. She’s that cousin who is just a little bit older, so when you were a pre-teen she was already a “cool” teenager. She was tall, thin, had strawberry blonde hair and I wanted so desperately to be like her. She’s THAT cousin!

Since my move to Australia, we stay in touch online and have found a common interest in family heritage and usually when I receive a package from her, it is filled with interesting bits of family history. This one wasn’t.

This package had an interestingly labeled little black box inside…and a card.

My dear, sweet cousin had read my blog, knew of my fear of the colour emerald-green and while out shopping thought this lovely bracelet might just persuade me that it wasn’t such a bad colour after all!

So not only is she still my cool, beautiful cousin but she proves once again that she is my SMART cousin, because she knows I can’t resist a little bling and by tempting me with this sparkler I will next be looking for something to wear it with, which means I will probably end up transitioning into loving emerald-green! Very clever, that one!

So now, thanks to Marlene, I am keeping my eyes peeled to find just the right thing to wear this with. Let the transitioning to emerald-green begin!
