Now and Later – T-shirt Dress Transition

Last week I kick started this series of Now and Later with my new T-shirt dress from Boohoo.com and thanks to a temporary cooling of the weather I am able to share with you how I plan to transition that fantastic summer dress into a look I can wear this autumn/winter.

Now: This is the look from last week. I’m still calling it the now look because the weather will get warm again over the next few days because summer hasn’t fully given in to the coming autumn.

Later: Here we have the same oxblood and black polka-dot t-shirt dress but styled for the cooler weather. Best way to do that? Layers! As I said last week, I like to be able to wear things in many seasons because it means the cost per wear of an item goes down, making it more economical. Layering is absolutely the best way to increase your wearing options. I am wearing the Summery t-shirt dress with polka-dotted tights, studded ankle boots, a black leather and knit motor-cycle jacket, black scarf and a fedora to keep warm.

Accessories: I stuck with black and silver accessories as those were common to the boots and bag. By adding the black and silver bracelets it helped tie the whole look together. When the weather gets colder, I can wear heavier tights or I can even wear my black cowboy boots. Another option would be to wear a black or oxblood sweater pulled over the t-shirt dress for a more casual and comfy look.

Later this month as we look at more transitional looks, I will continue with this format to show you both options in one post.

What do you think? Will I get my money’s worth from this dress? How would you style it for Spring?
