2013 Trends to Love – Military

Thanks to this hot trend to love for 2013, it looks like I have rejoined the military! I have to tell you, this time around I think it looks far better. But then the first time I was wearing what they call battle dress uniform camouflage and this time, it’s a bit more stylish.

Trend to Love – Military

Military Trend 2013: I was in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago for a conference and couldn’t resist doing a little shopping while there. Especially since the conference was being held right next to The Block Arcade and one of the stores I had easy access to was Country Road…who I love! I had already checked out the new line, online and found I was definitely drawn to some of the military inspired pieces. I had really been wanting something cool yet camo…so when I saw this shirt, I had to have it! Then I saw the jacket and decided I better have it too.

It would be easy to wear the shirt or jacket with jeans and go completely casual but I wanted to be able to wear it a little dressy and even to work. Because I once was in the Air Force, like 25 plus years ago,ย  it makes me laugh when someone at the hospital comments that I’m not in the military anymore. So pulling together a look for work was a must!

As I was going to get comments wearing the camouflage shirt, I thought I may as well go all the way and wear it with my prison orange pencil skirt and my favourite pair of sneaker wedges.

Military Accessories: The neutral colour in the camo made me opt for my sneaker wedges and then to tie it all together I used a little clutch that is the same colour with a grey trim. For jewelry its a brown, silver and copper charm bracelet, a rose gold watch, necklace and earrings and a thin brown leather belt to finish it all off.

Everyone comments on how high the shoes are, but they are crazy comfy and the rest of the outfit while giving a nod to the 2013 trend to love of Military Style is both relaxed, casual and chic.

At least I think so! What do you think? Are you going to be wearing the Military trend this year? How will you style it?
