L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2013 – Runway 3

Some great news from L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival for those of you in the US of A. Sass & Bide CEO, David Brisken spoke to a group of us before tonight’s Runway 3. Looks like the ladies are going international and will soon be opening their first Sass & Bide store in the SoHo area of New York.

For those of you who don’t know Sass & Bide, I suggest you get to know them because they make some AMAZING clothes!

The Fashion Sister and I had been in Melbourne on business all day but we still managed to look fabulous for the LMFF 2013 Runway #3 sponsored by Grazia. We met another dear friend, Sharon, and her absolutely stunning daughter Sheridan for the festivities of the night. In fact, thanks to Sharon and Sheridan, The Fashion Sister and I got to attend the Rekorderlig VIP Lounge prior to the runway which is where we heard David speak, before heading off to our second row seats and L’Oreal gift bags.

Again, as I was in Melbourne all day I couldn’t go full on glam but thought the fantastic Wittner wedges would be comfortable enough for walking around the city…and they were! I also wore a oxblood and cream, wide-striped pair of pants by Cue, a cream crocheted sweater over a vintage Hermes inspired shirt. As the evening got on I pulled the oxblood sequin jacket of the handbag to keep warm.

Loving the Hair and Earrings

Loving the Hair and Earrings

Loved this girls hair-cut and earrings. Just wish I would have gotten a better shot. Next time I must remember to take photos and then have a couple of drinks!

The after party was filled with numerous rich, famous and fantastic people, many of whom were young! Luckily for me there were a few other not so rich, famous or fantastic people there who were also like me in that they weren’t young either!

The runway was fantastic. Tonight the focus was on Alice McCall, Ginger & Smart, Ksubi, LifeWithBirtd, Michael Lo Sordo, Tigerlily and YB J’Aime by Yeojin Bae. All of us loved the World Traveler vibe of the clothes from Tigerlily. I had only known them as a designer of bathing suits but fell so in love with their clothing tonight that I will be soon on the hunt for several items.

Tomorrow I am heading to Melbourne alone and plan to park myself outside the venue to take a zillion street-style photos. Most of which I’ll end up sharing with you!

We had great time at L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2013, runway 3 tonight…but I am desperately needing more than 5 hours of sleep a night!
