What to Wear to the Circus, Cabaret and Burlesque?

This is the dilemma I am currently facing…What to wear to the circus, cabaret and burlesque all rolled into one?!

And it is my own fault I am stressing over this!

You see, tomorrow is the Fashion Mister’s birthday and I organized VIP tickets for four of us to attend Spiegelworld Empire as his present. Now, I’m the one wondering what the heck to wear?

The Promo: “Headlined by some of the sexiest, most daring artists ever to perform in Australia, Empire smashes through the borders of comedy, circus, variety and burlesque. Empire is a weekend-long party, squeezed into 90 minutes and onto a 3-metre diameter stage. And it’s all presented in the Spiegelworld carnival atmosphere with its beautifully historic Spiegeltent, speakeasy bar and other curiosities.”

Okay, looks like I need to skip any reference to Elvira, leave polka dots and big hats at home and definitely NO feathers! Unless I want to be mistaken for one of the performers.

And maybe no green eye-shadow…in fact…note to self…not too much make-up!

Hoola Hoop anyone?

Hoola Hoop anyone?

Oh good, now I know not to wear that nude netting piece with the strategically placed strips of fabric.

I’m thinking the Fashion Mister will be wearing more than a pair of white clam-diggers so I guess the white bustier will have to either be under proper clothing or wait for another day.

Keep your pants on!

I can promise I’ll be wearing more than this guy! Her maxi-skirt has me thinking…

I still don’t know what to wear to the circus, cabaret and burlesque!

Any thoughts? HELP!!!
