L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2013 – What I Wore

For my last night at L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2013, I went alone. As you saw last night, it was all about getting street style photos to share with all of you. The weather had cooled down a bit and as I was on my own I wasn’t too fussed about what I wore…but I knew I couldn’t be a bum!

And as I mentioned, it was the only night of the week that I actually got paped! Haven’t seen the photos anywhere yet and may never, but it was kind of cool to know that a professional photographer thought what I was wearing was interesting enough to get pictures.

What I Wore: You may recall this trench as one of my pre-Christmas purchases from ASOS.com. It really is a trench coat but I bought it because I wanted to be able to wear it as a dress. As the weather had cooled and I was walking from the train station to the Fashion Festival, a trench-dress seemed the perfect option! Plus I was going early to take photos and would be standing around for a while so an ankle boot seemed like a great option.

Once I put the wide patent leather belt on it really highlighted the peplum effect of the pockets in this coat which gave it a bit of a vintage feel. I think the gun-metal gray/silver colour was fantastic with just a hint of purple.

Accessories for LMFF 2013: I really did want to keep this look simple and easy to wear since I was taking the train there and back on my own and needed to walk from Southern Cross Station to Central Pier at Docklands. No point in drawing too much attention to myself or wearing something that wasn’t comfortable. Besides the ankle boots being of a comfortable heel height I love the studs at the back to give them a bit of edge. My jewelry is fairly simple and girlie, white watch, purple jade bangle, a string of amethyst beads and giant pair of silver filigree floral earrings. To continue with the more geometric/edgy part of the look I wore a pair of gray tights purchased while we were in Spain and used a little off-white and gray trimmed clutch with very graphic detailing.

I had gone with looser curls in the hair and red lippy for a little drama. The only other accessory I had for the night was my camera!

What do you all think about What I Wore to LMFF 2013 on my last night of Fashion Week? Too much? Or not enough?
